I must say that I also love the new trend of putting candles inside tea cups also.

Table Centerpieces

Thinking about your centerpiece? Well you can forget flowers! The new trend in centerpieces are candles. They’re simple yet elegent, and MUCH cheaper than flowers would be. Also, if you plan right, you can reuse them in your house after the wedding. Here are some Ideas-

Smith & Hawken® Wasp Candle Holder - Small These Wasp candle holders can be found at Target or Target.com (http://www.target.com/p/Smith-Hawken-174-Wasp-Candle-Holder-Small/-/A-13481260)

Centerpiece Mirrors 6" Round Scalloped Edge 6 for $14.34 / $2.39 each  A circular mirror, similar to the one in the photo, is a lovely centerpiece when you place candles of different sizes on top. The mirror reflects the light, which will brigten your table and room. You can find mirrors similar to this at save-on-crafts.com (http://www.save-on-crafts.com/mirrors7.html)

Mason Jars have been the new big thing lately, and that trend has made its way over to weddings. Leave the top off, and place a single tea candle in the jar. Depending on the size of the tables, place the jars in a cluster in the middle of a circular table, or spaced evenly on a rectangular table. The jars can be bought in bulk at Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ball-Quart-Mason-Jars-With-Lids-and-Bands-12-Pack/8033243)

Be creative and Enjoy!

DIY Wedding Presents

This one is great, especially if you are very close to the couple. The idea comes from Martha Stewart, and can easily be tweaked from vacation to wedding. The link to martha’s idea is here (http://www.marthastewart.com/268285/preserve-vacation-memories-in-shadow-box?backto=true&backtourl=/photogallery/family-vacation-memory-crafts)

Ideas for changing the theme of the box:

-Pay attention to the invite. This can give you ideas on the colors for the wedding, the type of wedding, and what the couple like. For example, if the invites are a peach and cream, and not too fancy, keep the colors similar to the colors of the invite and keep the theme of the box informal.

- Put the invite, save the date, and any photo of the couple you have recieved in the box.

-Include items like fake flowers, trinkets that relate to their history (did they become engaged in Paris? Throw in a French flag and eiffel tower similar to what Martha has in her box! Engangement photos on the beach? put sand in the bottom of the box with some sea shells!)

- Last but not least, HAVE FUN! The couple will definatly be able to tell the time and thought that you put into this gift, and they will enjoy that more than anything else!
